Cracked Wall to Exposed Column Support

This customer had a wall that suddenly cracked without cause.  They asked us to investigate the cause for the insurance company.  When the wall was opened up it exposed a wood column support for a support beam above.  Obviously there was some sort of shift with the support.  The customer had to decide to cover it back up with the risk of it doing that again, or we gave them the option to expose it and clean up the support, while framing the drywall around it, instead of covering it again.  They chose to go with the exposed look and as you can see it came out beautifully!
